Title: Evaluation of Programs Designed to Assist Veterans Obtain IT Jobs Agency: U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) Requirement: Evaluate the methodology and effectiveness of two programs sponsored by the Veterans' Employment and Training Service (VETS). Solution: JPS was hired to evaluate two programs designed to assist separating military personnel obtain jobs in the information technology (IT) sector. In one program veterans were given 6 weeks of training to obtain A+ certification as well as entry-level information on Net+. In the other program veterans were screened, trained, provided certification tests, and assisted in finding job opportunities. JPS' evaluation of both programs included assessments of effectiveness of the program, a review of the training materials, and the value of the certifications.
